How Things Usually Go

How Things Usually Go

STAGE 1 - Initial contact

We are happy to pick up the phone by whatever means to discuss your proposals and advise free of charge.

With some basic information (address, photos or a look on Google Maps and a brief description of what you want to achieve) we will do some checks and advise you on what’s required in terms of permissions, who needs to be involved and how much it’ll cost.

STAGE 2 - Survey

Once terms have been agreed, we will arrange to call out and discuss your proposals in more depth. We will take some laser measurements, take some photos and answer any questions you may have.

STAGE 3 - Initial drawings

Within an agreed timescale we will forward you initial drawings in draft format by e-mail to look over. This is to give you an opportunity to make sure what we are drawing is what you anticipated and if anything needs amending we will arrange it at this stage.

STAGE 4 - Planning Application Submitted

We submit the planning application and deal with the planning department on your behalf; keeping you informed throughout.

STAGE 5 - Building Regulations Application submitted

We submit the building regulations application and deal with the building control department on your behalf; keeping you informed throughout.

This is how it usually goes – however, sometimes not all these stages are relevant to your individual proposals – and sometimes other hurdles occur.
